24 ORE DI DAYTONA, L’ELENCO DEI PILOTI PARTECIPANTI
Daytona, Florida, tra una settimana si accenderanno i motori per la quarantaseiesima edizione delal 24 ore di Daytona, il primo e più prestigioso appuntamento del campionato Grand Am; 25 Daytona Prototype, 42 GT, più di 200 piloti, tra cui 12 italiani, provenienti da numerosi campionati americani ed europei daranno vita ad una delle gare più emozionanti della stagione. Ferrari, Porsche, Lexus, Ford, Corvette, BMW, Mazda e Pontiac sono i nomi dei costruttori e motoristi impegnati, il meglio dell’automobilismo mondiale.
Juan Pablo Montoya e Scott Pruett sono chiamati a bissare il successo dello scorso anno, ottenuto insieme a Salvador Duran, che però guiderà la seconda Lexus del team Ganassi; presenti anche Dario Franchitti, Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, Dan Wheldon, Graham Rahal, Robert Doornbos, Allan McNish, Jimmie Johnson, Jimmy Vasser, Justin Wilson, Ricardo Zonta e poi i nostri Massimiliano Angelelli, Fabio Babini, Massimiliano Papis, Fabrizio Gollin, Diego Alessi, Gabrio Rosa, solo per fare alcuni esempi.
Giovedi 24 le vetture scenderanno in pista per la sessione di qualifica sul tracciato, che come tradizione, percorre parte del tracciato ovale per poi snodarsi nell’infield; sabato 26, invece, alle 13:30 locali, 19:30 in Italia, partirà la gara vera e propria, una maratona di 24 ore che ha sempre riservato battaglie fino all’ultimo e colpi di scena.
